Because we have just opened our daycare… there was not alot of money to be buying expensive outdoor equipment.. so we made a small water wall.. and mud kitchen .. the kids LOVE it!
What creative ideas. I love that water wall…defintely going to have to try that when I go back to school. I have never heard of calling mud play…a mud kitchen – I love it! They look like they are having so much fun.
Can you post more details on what you did for your water wall? It’s hard to see from the pictures, but I have a small section of chain link this might be fun to try it out on! Please email me.
Hey Sadie
I took water bottles and other types of plastic bottles and cut the bottoms out of them. I then used duct tape to cover the edges so that they were not sharp. I poked holes through the sides and strung them onto the fence with string. I also used hoses and funnels and anything else I could find that I could tie to the fence for them to pour water through. I put dish pans at the bottom to catch the water and used big turkey basters and measuring cups to pick up the water from below to use over and over again. Hope this helps.

Thanks! Very messy =-) Make sure they have extra clothes to change into when they are all done!
They are having a blast! the more old dishes and pots and pans the better!
I love it!
Fantastic – I can imagine the conversations between the children as they played. More please…
They are always asking if they can go outside now and check on the mudpies =-)
I remember playing with mud as a child, we called it a bakery, found fresh flowers to decorate – brings back great memories!
